at how was I before this trip. Work, going to the gym, watching the people there who were just the same as me - wanting to get their muscles in shape - or maybe it was all in my head, they probably just wanted to live a healthy life - watch television, watch x factor, watch my favourite series on theinternet, knowing that on Monday comes that, and on Tuesday comes that and on Thursday come the other two, cooking my everyday meal, use my Blackberry. Guys there is a big world there with beautiful people and beautiful places who just wait to be discovered. This journey changed me. A journey like this changes you. I am taking a virtual bet now with my head, I would really like to think the same way after a month of my everydaylife, or what I think it used to be my everydaylife. I will never go to a Zoo again. I always hated them. Now I hate them more.

I am writing
from my Delly from my desk from my apartment from my adopted town from Germany. It's cold here. But there is no rain...could snow tomorrow though. I'm on the costarican hour, so now it is 15:00. Next week I'm working nightshifts so I will have a prolonged jetlag.
The trip was allright, after changing three airplanes (one was a domestic one), one bus, one sky train, one normal train and a taxi. The food you get lately on planes is really bad and filled with E-s. Maybe it was always like that but this E awareness was not so IN. I can say though that the food was better than on our way to CR. I had something that tasted "natural butterly" and a cheese that contained "milk-like ingredients". And I also had wine which tasted like wine and looked like wine. Probably it was also a "winely taste" only.
The trip was long, a bit too long. I had trouble sleeping in the plane and for the first time I got some kind of a panic attack of claustrophoby - night, all the light turned off, everybody sleeping. Me the only person who couldn't and the only thing I kept thinking was if I want to get down from this plane I cannot do that for another five hours. And the latest film with Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks is stupid. Or maybe was too deep for me. I don't know, when Americans try to do this "deep" thing, it just turns out to be quite lame. That is my opinion, I dont know about you.
Thats it for now, I'm gonna try to warm myself in a cold apartment.

It is raining
again so the reception computer has no internet connection. But the reception lady was kind enough and she gave me her small laptop.
The last night in Manuel Antonio, in Costa Rica...
We visited today the Manuel Antonio National Park. There are so many National Parks here in COsta Rica. Again, we had a very experimentated guide, he knew so many stuff. For my romanian friends, we saw a lot of sloth. In the end of my experience I finally understood what a sloth is. it,s not a monkey, looks a bit like a koala. It´s a ¨lenes¨. Faultier, fur meine Deutsche Freunde. Again we saw reptiles, basilisks, birds, monkeys. As I was walking through the jungle I kept thinking - in Europe you hire guides and u walk through palaces and paintings and carpets and history. Here we walk near life, the real life. Nothing compares to that, no Louvres or Versailles or Domes.
Musical experiences - apart from the usual latin music, I experienced Hole and Nirvana in Monteverde, U2 in Manuel Antonio, Coldplay and Mummford and Sons in Quepos. We ate in Quepos - the tuna was a bit to rare for me - under a singing cloud. There were so many birds.
So people I met today - two canadians from Montreal who had difficulties with their English (that was a first for me), one girl from Slovakia who was still trying to find out what to do with her life, one German guy from Dussedorf who had a strange mixture on his skin - that was sand and sun cream. And our costarican guide who knew so many stuff.
The last night in Costa Rica - I am going to Marlin, the restaurant on the beach, have a vino tinto and try to remember all the beautiful experiences that I had.

Jingle Bells
Im in the lobby of my hotel Mono Azul (which means Blue Monkey), still in Manuel Antonio. I´m having a nice cup of green costarican tea and im listening to Christmas carolls. Listening to Jingle Bells when outside are 30 degrees Celsius and I´m wearing a t-shirt (not a functional one though) is quite an experience. The same feeling I had in Chile a few years ago but there the things got even more extreme - I also saw Santas. They didnt have short trousers though. I stopped using insect repellent because it doesn´t help. I thought that mosquitoes stopped loving my blood but apparently they fell in love with me again. So I´m spending my time scratching and scratching. One of them came very close to my face but stopped at adams apple. It´s a good thing I have my beard because the mosquitoes will never bite a bearded face. They are afraid of them. I hope.
I woke up this morning and I felt a schock - it´s not raining. At least for now.
In a land famous for its coffee, I´m having tea. But it´s costarican and delicious. For my friends who know that I don´t drink coffee anymore I have to admit - I did it in Monteverde. We visited a coffee plantation. The owner was an amazing 72 who looked like 60 man who 46 years ago bought a piece of jungle and transformed it into a coffee plantation. The coffee fruit is red when it reaches maturity and the seeds are sweet. And the seeds will be then roasted and there is light, medium or dark roasted. I must say I really loved the dark roasted flavour. So I had a cup of coffee after the tour. I started feeling it in my pulse and heart in like 10 minutes. I didnt shake though but I had to use the bathroom quite quickly (!!!!). We went back to our hotel, we had a bit of breakfast and then I said I want to read. After a few pages from my exciting book I fell asleep and I did it really deep and one hour long. So I decided I am a coffee paradox. Green tea really keeps me up (my collegues from the ICU know what I mean with that). Shit, a mosquito just triple bit me.
I really wanted to get like really brown when I go home where is cold and winter. So people will get jealous of me. I am not brown, a bit orange reddish colour I think but I can show them my mosquito bites. And I still have two days before I start working and a good solarium at the gym where I go. Altough I don´t like solariums. I like the natural stuff.
I´m going to read a bit now. Ildefonso Falcones - "Die Pfeiler des Glaubens" - spanish writer whom I read in german. It´s a nice cinematic book, altough I don´t understand everything. His first novel that I´ve read was an accidental discovery in the airport in Florence. The Cathedral at the sea - I read that in English, I understood everything and I fell in love with it and the way this author writes. And I am also learning a bit of spanish history in the process.

I am in Manuel Antonio
and that is in Costa Rica. It has been raining (sorry pouring) for hours now but I got used to it. I poured the most part of my trip. The functional clothes that I bought before coming here really helped. I didn´t know anything about functional clothes but it seems everything can be manufactured in a functional sort of way. I don´t know about underwear though. We arrived in Manuel Antonio yesterday from Monteverde. The temperature difference and weather was so striking. The hotel is nice and cosy, I found at the reception a real computer, with tastatur (??). I mean, Smaranda´s ipod is nice and useful but you have to touch the screen in order to write and I don´t like touching screens in order to do that. Probably it has to do with my big undelicate fingers. I was writing today the posts from the blog of a new friend of mine that I met in Monteverde (Steven, thats you) and I decided to restart blogging.
So Manuel Antonio - now I can say I have seen also the Pacific Ocean. And I also took a few baths. The water is perfect. The sand is perfect. And there are a lot of stones on the beach. So my luggage will again be filled with stones. I need a new vase because the one I already have back home contains the stones from Elba. I dont want to mix them. What is interesting about the ocean, the tide is huge. I mean we sunbathe where at nights is filled with water. The water coveres almost the whole shore. I didn´t see gellyfish which is a good thing because I don´t like them. I´ve seen some little crabs who crawl in the sand. For crabs they were quite cute. Probably because they were small. And even though we said we want do any activities we went on a catamaran from Quepo. It rained and it was very foggy but the trip was nice. I did snorkelling for the first time - at first I didnt wanna do it, the rain was to heavy but in the ended I said yes. It was amazing. I didnt see too many fish but the ones I did were blue and red. If it were sunnier, we could have seen more and deeper. But it´s ok, the experience was interesting. The catamaran had a sliding thing (tobogan - for my romanian friends) that went from the roof of the boat in the water. It was amazing. We practically fly and in 2 seconds are you straight in the water. We met again new and interesting people, we will have a couple of drinks with two mexicans tonight. I would have liked to see one sunset (at least here, at Sunset Hotel in Monteverde we didn´t see any sunsets). And I would have liked to see some dolphins on the trip today but it seems that they dont like this weather also. What I learned for my future trips - to book my own hotels (hostels) ! And to be more sociable. I think people are all sociable and want to speak, they are mostly shy to do it. I know I am a television freak and sometimes a facebook one. People are transforming into virtual creatures. And we started to prefer it sometime. Talking to somebody could be an amazing experience. You find so many stuff about stuff. And you meet people, you make new friends. You just have to be opened and wanting to share ur life. The people I met here so far - the shy guy in the plane from Belgium, the receptionist from San Jose and her daughter, our guide in Tortuguero, the people from our group in Tortuguero - Alex. Elena, Jessica, Flores, the english and the dutch couples, the german from Lava Lounge, the owner from LAva Lounge, the locals and the Americans in the disco in La Fortuna, the people from Monteverde, our german /costarican host, his son and his wife, Steven, Janis, Jan, the two Australians, the mexicans, the spanish couple....- were all nice and interesting.
We still have two days, then it´s going back to Germany filled with a lot of nice memories.

Costa Rica
Hi guys!
Such a long time since my last post...I´m writing to you from Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. I found a real computer so I can write. Smaranda´s thing (ipod) is a very good thing but you have to touch the screen to write and I don´t like touching screens in order to write. So, Manuel Antonio...The trip is coming slowly to its end and it was a real great experience. I met so many people and I really hope I made some nice friendships.
We were so close not to come here anymore, because we didnt have a transitional visa
